Block Email from Unwanted Senders in Yahoo Mail
To block email messages in Yahoo Mail, follow these steps:
Go to Yahoo Mail in a web browser, log in to your account, and select the Settings gear icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Select More Settings at the bottom of the Settings pane. Select the Security and Privacy category in the left pane, and then select Add in the Blocked Addresses section. Any email addresses you block appear in the Blocked Addresses section. Yahoo Mail does not notify senders that you have blocked them. In the Add an email address to block section, go to the Address text box and type the email address you want to block. Select Save.

To add an email address to the list of blocked senders in Yahoo Mail Basic:
Select the drop-down arrow next to your account name. Choose Options from the drop-down list and then select Go. Select Blocked Addresses in the left pane. In the Add an address text box, enter the email address you want to block. Select the plus sign (+) to add the address to your blocked list.
Blocking Unwanted Senders Is Not Blocking Junk Emails
Blocking email addresses isn’t an effective strategy to prevent spam because spammers often use a new address (or domain name) for every junk email they send. Yahoo Mail has a built-in spam blocker that you can customize.
Can You Block Senders From the Yahoo Mail App?
You can only block unwanted email addresses in the web versions of Yahoo Mail. Open the desktop version in your phone’s browser, or use a computer instead.
